#8.jpg

Starting your day with a smile, can easily set the tone and leave you feeling good and upbeat through the rest of your day. You can radically enhance your mood and balance out your overall anxiety, simply by planning your routine out a bit. Here are 5 quick Janet tested ways!

Try some or try all, but I bet even trying a couple will make for a better day.

1. Hit the snooze button? Yes!

Yes , you read right! Hit the Snooze button--but just one time. That is when you get 10 more minutes to clear the fog and prepare yourself mentally for the day ahead. Hitting Snooze just once gives you a sense, that you call the shots over your day! While setting your alarm the night before, allow time for a 10-minute snooze--if you don't take it, that's 10 extra minutes for a less-rushed morning.

2. Brighten things up

Imagine waking up to bright colours, a lemon-yellow comforter, a fuchsia pink wall maybe…err no? Well, reports and studies say that bright colours increase your confidence, mental agility and simply, make you happy. If fuchsia isn’t your scene, try a lime green or a yellow. For some calm, try blues. They say waking up to reds and purples, makes you energetic. So, this would be a good time to log into #pinterest for ideas.

3. Let those smiles begin

So, you groggily look into mirror, you see your groggy face. Here’s what you should do. SMILE. Much to feeling like a complete fool, it reduces your stress, and releases the happy hormone called endorphins. There is one rule that works here. Fake it, till you make it. And Smile you will.

4. Take the time to eat a hearty breakfast?

Breakfasts they say, is the most important meal of the day. So, once you have finished revelling in the happy colours of your room, get some happy into your tummy. Do begin your day with a lot of water, as you do end up waking up a bit dehydrated. You could try fruits, eggs, upma, some healthy idlis, or if you prefer to make something ahead of time, here is a go to recipe, from our Brand Advisor Deepti, for a quick beauty brekker.

Deepti’s 4 ingredient Chia Pudding –

INGREDIENTS

  • 3–4 Tablespoons chia seeds

  • 1 cup milk (I like unsweetened cow’s milk ,coconut, almond or cashew milk)

  • 1/2 Tablespoon maple syrup, honey or sweetener of choice*

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

  • Toppings of choice: fresh berries, sliced bananas or other fruit, granola, nut butter, etc.

PROCESS

  • Mix: In a bowl or mason jar, stir together chia seeds, milk, maple syrup and vanilla, if using. If you’re using a mason jar, you can put the lid on and shake the mixture to combine everything.

  • Give it time to set: Once the chia pudding mixture is well combined, let it sit for 5 minutes, give it another stir/shake to break up any clumps of chia seeds, cover and put the mixture in the fridge to “set” for 1-2 hours or overnight. The chia pudding should be nice and thick, not liquidy. If it’s not thick enough, just add more chia seeds (about 1 Tablespoon), stir and refrigerate for another 30 minutes or so.

  • You can also prep you pudding the night before and let it sit in the fridge overnight if that’s easier. When ready to serve top the pudding with berries and enjoy.

  • How to store: Chia pudding can be stored for up to 5-7 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

5. Look Your Best

Putting the effort into dressing well, doing your hair, and if you use makeup, then using some even if you are working from home, can make you look and feel great. You aren’t trying to look good for other people—you’ll be looking good for yourself. You’ll feel much more confident and happier when you like what you see in the mirror.

I hope this article put a smile on your face and I hope the tips I’ve shared continue to do so every morning.

PS: I hope you enjoy the chia pudding. I definitely did!!
